The EXTRA License Study Course still has room for those whose schedule may have improved.
Classes are Mondays, 1830 to 2130, room 304 at the Crestview campus of NWFSC. Parking is on the northeast side of the campus, right next to US 90.
We are using the ARRL Extra study guide. Grab a book, review chapters one and two, and read three which will be covered this Monday. No class on Labor Day and no cost for the class.
Contact KA5DLV or W4BZM with questions, or use the Contact US page on this website.
NOARC will offer a class for the Extra license this Fall. Classes will be held at the Crestview campus of Northwest Florida State College on Monday nights from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, starting on 19 August and continuing through 11 November, with a test tentatively schedule for 18 November.
Class will not be held on Labor Day (02 Sep) but we plan to hold a class on the evening of Veterans Day (11 Nov) at a location other than the college.
Notification e-mails have been sent out to those who indicated a “serious interest” in the class, but there should be room for additional students. We have made an announcement to Playground Amateur Radio Club if anyone there is interested.
If you are planning to attend, please notify Bruce Adams KA5DLV or Mike Behr W4BZM so that you can be put on the e-mail distribution list for additional information prior to the start of classes.
Two applicants were tested on 8/5/2019, with David, KM5AT passing his Extra. He was licensed previously as an Advanced.
Others helping with the session were W4BZM, KI5FR, AJ4XK, KL7LS, KJ4RWD AND KK4WDQ. New member and new ham Bob, KN4UDT, assisted with setup and crowd control. He plans on becoming a VE within the next year.
Thanks to Live Oak Baptist Church, NOARC, the applicants, and most of all the other VEs. A special thanks to Ron for getting the Fellowship Hall.
