Our next Kids Day number one takes place on the first Saturday June 20th, 2026<span dir=\"ltr\">.<\/span>\u00a0The event runs\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">from 2 pm through 8 pm<\/span>. You can operate as much or as little as you like. It\u2019s all designed to give on-the-air experience to young people and hopefully foster interest in getting licenses of their own. It is also intended to give older hams a chance to share their station and love for amateur radio with their children.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1338 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/w4aaz.org\/noarc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Kids_Day_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/w4aaz.org\/noarc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Kids_Day_1.jpg 525w, https:\/\/w4aaz.org\/noarc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Kids_Day_1-300x161.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how it works: You can invite your kids or grandkids to your station, explain how it works, and then take turns talking on the radio. You could also share the excitement with your neighbors, a Scout troop, a church group, or the general public at a library or a shopping mall.<\/p>\n<p>You can use most any frequency from 10 &#8211; 80 meters. You can also use one of your favorite repeaters&#8230; with permission from the repeater\u2019s owners. Be sure to observe third-party restrictions when making DX QSOs. Then the real fun starts&#8230;take pictures, write your story, and send them to ARRL. With a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arrl.informz.net\/z\/cjUucD9taT0zNTE1NjAyJnA9MSZ1PTUyMDMyMzM0NSZsaT00MDk2MDkxMQ\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-informz-link=\"true\" data-informz-link-name=\"\" data-informz-do-not-track=\"false\">signed release form<\/a>, your story can appear in ARRL publications like\u00a0<em>QST<\/em>, as part of the Kids Day and Youth write-ups, Strays, Up Front, and more. Send stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:contests@arrl.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-informz-link=\"true\" data-informz-link-name=\"\" data-informz-do-not-track=\"false\" data-informz-email-address=\"contests@arrl.org\">contests@arrl.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the part that will light up the kids\u2019 eyes even more&#8230;a <a href=\"https:\/\/arrl.informz.net\/z\/cjUucD9taT0zNTE1NjAyJnA9MSZ1PTUyMDMyMzM0NSZsaT00MDk2MDkxMg\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-informz-link=\"true\" data-informz-link-name=\"\" data-informz-do-not-track=\"false\">Kids Day Certificate of Participation<\/a>\u00a0(PDF).
