The exam fee is set by the VEC and is $10.<\/p>\n<p>Not licensed? Find out\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/getting-licensed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">why you should get licensed<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to Bring to a WCARS Exam Session:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A legal photo ID (driver\u2019s license, passport) or, if no photo ID is available, two forms of identification:<br \/>\na. non-photo ID\/driver\u2019s license (some states still have them)<br \/>\nb. birth certificate (must have the appropriate seal)<br \/>\nc. social security card<br \/>\nd. library card<br \/>\ne. utility bill, bank statement or other business\u00a0correspondence that<br \/>\nspecifically names the person; or a postmarked envelope addressed<br \/>\nto the person at his or her current mailing address as it appears on<br \/>\nthe Form 605.<\/li>\n<li>Students\/minors may bring any of the above items and\/or a school ID, minor\u2019s work permit, report card, or a legal guardian may present a photo ID.<\/li>\n<li>FCC-issued\u00a0<strong>Federal Registration Number<\/strong>\u00a0(FRN). For instructions on how to register with the FCC and receive a FRN, visit the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fjallfoss.fcc.gov\/coresWeb\/faq.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FCC\u2019s FAQ\u00a0page<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/wireless.fcc.gov\/uls\/index.htm?job=about_getting_started\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FCC\u2019s registration instructions page<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If applicable, bring either a photocopy of your current Amateur Radio license or a reference copy printed out from the FCC website, the license information printed from ARRL website or QRZ website, or the original(s) and photocopy(s) of any Certificates of Successful Completion of Examination (CSCE) you may hold from previous exam sessions. If your license has already been issued by FCC, the CSCE showing license credit is not needed. The photocopy(s)\u00a0will not be returned.\u00a0 Instructions on how to obtain an official FCC license copy are on the<em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/obtain-license-copy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Obtain License Copy<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0web page.<\/li>\n<li>Two number two pencils with erasers and a pen.<\/li>\n<li>A calculator with the memory erased and formulas cleared is allowed.\u00a0You may not bring any written notes or calculations into the exam session.\u00a0Slide rules and logarithmic tables are acceptable, as long as they\u2019re free of notes and formulas.
