The purpose of the North Okaloosa Amateur Radio Club is to encourage the unity, fellowship, and activities of the amateur radio community in the Okaloosa County and neighboring communities. It has members from Santa Rosa, Walton, and Okaloosa Counties in Florida and Covington County, Alabama.
We strive to promote the positive character and benefits of the amateur radio hobby to the local communities.
The Club creates a direct benefit to North West Florida by providing opportunities to develop radio communication skills and support Emergency Operation Center operations and other community events.
NOARC meets twice a month at Live Oak Baptist church in Crestview, FL. The second Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM is our monthly business meeting where we handle the official business of the club such as planning activities and reviewing income and expenses. The fourth Thursday of every month at the same time and location is our monthly “tech night” where we really get down to the fun stuff and learn about all the different facets of amateur radio. Both nights are a great opportunity to come out and meet fellow operators in our local area or get acquainted with the hobby if you’re brand new! If you’d like to Join NOARC, simply fill out an application form and bring it to one of the meetings or you can mail it in.
A nightly net is also operated on the club’s 147.360 repeater at 8:00 PM central time and is a great way to test out your equipment and say “hello” to your fellow hams.
